On December 2nd, 1975, Chairman Mao Zedong met with US President Gerald Ford and his wife Betty Ford, as well as other personnel accompanying President Ford on his visit. After Chairman Mao shook hands with all the American guests one by one, he had a serious and meaningful conversation on a wide range of issues with President Ford in a friendly atmosphere.
US President Ford left Washington, the capital of the United States, by plane on the morning of November 29th and traveled to China via Alaska and Japan.
